We're looking for that person - one per lake. Someone with access to lake or waterfront space, some business or hospitality experience, the financial capacity to invest, and a genuine pull toward the sailing lifestyle.

We review applications personally. Here are the questions we hear first.
Bonneville awards exactly one exclusive franchise territory per lake. Once a territory is filled, it is no longer available to new applicants on that lake. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so earlier applications get earlier review. Note: on lakes that cross state lines - such as Lake Tahoe and Bear Lake - it may make sense for each state sharing the lake to have its own franchisee. Those situations are evaluated individually.
No - and that's the entire point. Bonneville was built on an inland lake and specifically targets inland lake communities like Tahoe, Arrowhead, and Coeur d'Alene. These markets have no local sailing instruction competition, which is the opportunity.
We look for access to lake or waterfront space, some business or hospitality experience, the financial capacity to invest, and a genuine pull toward the sailing lifestyle. You do not need to be a certified sailing instructor before applying - the system trains and certifies your instructors.
Applications are reviewed personally by lake and region on a rolling basis - not by an algorithm. Once you apply, a member of the Bonneville team will review your specific lake and background and reach out directly.
The Bonneville franchise includes a full curriculum from first lesson to certified sailor, instructor training and certification pathway, safety and operations manuals built from 20+ real seasons, marketing playbooks, scheduling systems ready to deploy, and ongoing hands-on mentorship from the founding team.
